Burmese Army May Have Attacked Shan State With Use Of Chemical Weapons

The internal conflict in Burma between the government and the ethnics has existed for a long time. Recently, a new battle commenced between the Burmese military and the Shan State Army (one of the ethnic armies of Burma). According to Shan sources, the Burmese army and the SSA are fighting for the control of the intersection that connects northern and southern Shan state, and chemical bombs were launched in the area. It is important to note that there is no real third party verification that the bombs were launched by the Burmese Army, however, Jaden McNeely of Global Refuge International stayed in the region for about 3 months, and tells VOA about his findings.
